LHC directs Punjab govt to re-register private schools
LAHORE: (Suno News) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday directed the Punjab School Education Department to re-register private schools across the province.
Hearing environment-related petitions, Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court also directed the private schools to acquire buses for the transportation of students.
The order passed by the court reads that also two years ago, the School Education Department had been instructed to ensure the acquisition of buses for the private schools but the department could not implement the order.
In its earlier order on a set of environment-related petitions, the LHC said a notification should be issued mentioning “at least closure of public schools, colleges, universities and all educational institutions for each Saturday till the end of January 2024”.
The court had directed, “Also, the government shall take measures for declaring two days in the week as work from home in the private sector in the province of Punjab.”
