LAHORE: (Suno News) An accountability court Monday declared former federal minister Moonis Elahi, a son of former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi, a proclaimed offender in the Gujrat Corruption case.

The court also sought the record of the properties owned by Moonis Elahi, and it also ordered to initiate the process of confiscating his properties.

Accountability Court judge Naseem Ahmad Virk conducted a hearing on the petition of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The NAB told the court that investigations against Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi in the Gujrat corruption case were underway, adding: “Moonis Elahi is yet to be arrested.”

The court declared Moonis Elahi a proclaimed offender. It sought the record of the properties owned by Moonis Elahi and ordered to initiate the process of confiscating them.

It is to be noted here that Moonis Elahi is accused of extending damage to the national exchequer by receiving kickbacks in the development projects.

The NAB Lahore has been investigating a case of over Rs1 billion corruption against Moonis Elahi.

Earlier, the NAB submitted a report in court that accused Moonis Elahi went into hiding to avoid arrest in the case.
