JUI-F’s Hafiz Hamdullah narrowly escapes gun attack
QUETTA: (Web Desk) Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah narrowly escaped a gun attack in Qila Abdullah area of Balochistan.
Just a day before the general elections, unknown gunmen opened fire on the convoy of JUI-F leader in base area of Qila Abdullah.
All the political workers and security personnel present in the convoy including Hafiz Hamdullah remained unhurt. The JUI-F leader was on his way to Quetta from Chaman when the untoward incident took place. After the retaliatory firing by Hafiz Hamdullah’s security guards, the gunmen managed to escape.
Earlier, 25 people were killed and at least 50 others were injured in bomb blasts at election offices in Pishin and Qila Saifullah in Balochistan province.
At least eight people died and 10 sustained injuries in a bomb blast near an election office of an independent candidate in the Khanozai area of Pishin.
According to rescue sources, the blast took place in the PB-43 constituency at the election office of independent candidate and former provincial minister Asfand Yar Kakar.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took notice of the bomb blast and sought immediate reports from the Balochistan chief secretary and inspector general of police (IGP). The ECP ordered stern action against the persons involved in the terrorist attack.
