LAHORE: (Suno News) Jahangir Khan Tareen, the chairman of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), has announced his resignation from both his party position and politics entirely, following his defeat in the recent February 8 polls in the constituencies of NA-149 and NA-155.

Tareen suffered defeat in both constituencies by a huge margin, with PML-N and independent candidates emerging victorious in the respective constituencies.

Expressing gratitude to supporters and acknowledging the will of the people, Tareen stated his decision to step down in a post on social media platform X. He emphasised his commitment to serving the country in a private capacity.

Abdul Aleem Khan, the IPP President, expressed sadness at Tareen’s decision, lauding his contributions to the party and philanthropic activities.

It is to be noted here that Aleem Khan himself secured victories in the NA-117 and PP-149 constituencies.

Tareen’s resignation marks a significant setback for the IPP, prompting questions about the party’s future direction and Tareen’s political trajectory.
