Imran says ready to negotiate with anyone in power

RAWALPINDI: (Suno News) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has said that he was ready to negotiate with anyone in power, not for coming to power, but for ensuring clean and transparent elections.

Talking to the media after the hearing of his cases in Adiala Jail, the former prime minister further detailed that he was talking about negotiations with the establishment. He added that a fugitive was being given VIP protocol during his electoral campaign. He said that all the political included in Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) were on the same page against PTI. He also ruled out any political alliance with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in forming the government after elections.

“Political alliance can only be made with the Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Shirani,” he said.

He said, “Azam Khan was kidnapped and kept for 40 days and Khawar Manika was put under pressure. On the other hand, what is happening with the media is also unprecedented. The media has been completely controlled. Since May 25, 2023, efforts are being made to crush the party.”

Imran Khan said that two murder attempts had been made on him. He maintained, “I had authorised the local leadership of PTI to issue party tickets to election aspirants. Senior politician Sheikh Rasheed held a press conference due to which he was not supported. We tried to bring electronic voting machines that were supposed to eliminate 80 per cent chances of rigging.”

He said that there was a severe economic crisis in Pakistan at the moment. He added that political engineering had caused national crises. Elections will be effective only if PTI remains in the field, he noted.

“As things are now, no one can stop and defeat PTI. We gave a call last Sunday as part of election campaign. What law did we break on May 9?”
