Imran Khan allowed to talk to his sons over phone by court
Islamabad: A special court established under the Official Secrets Act on Monday ordered the jail staff to let former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan speak to his sons over the phone.
Earlier, Imran Khan had filed a contempt of court petition against the superintendent of the Attock Jail through his Advocate Shiraz Ranjha.
The petition stated that the PTI chief was not allowed to talk to his children over the telephone despite court orders. It added that a special court judge had allowed Imran Khan to meet his children.
The petition pleaded further that the Attock Jail superintendent should be summoned in his personal capacity and contempt proceedings should be started against him.
Imran Khan should be permitted to talk to his sons through phone or WhatsApp, the application urged.
Special court judge Zulqarnain heard the application of the former prime minister.
Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain has summoned an implementation report by September 15 and ordered to launch of contempt of court proceedings against the jail superintendent for non-compliance to the orders in this regard.
The court has injuncted to ensure the implementation of the orders in any case.
