IHC restores Islamabad DC’s authority to issue MPO
ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday restored the authority of the Islamabad deputy commissioner to issue the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
A two-member bench, comprising IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, issued orders restoring the Islamabad deputy commissioner’s authority to issue MPO.
The IHC suspended the single-bench decision preventing the Islamabad deputy commissioner from issuing MPO and issued a notice to the parties on the appeal of the Islamabad chief commissioner and others against the single-bench decision.
Single-bench Justice Babar Sattar had declared the Islamabad deputy commissioner’s authority to issue MPO illegal.
The Islamabad chief commissioner and the interior secretary filed an intra-court appeal against the single-bench decision.
