Ex-KP minister’s son, another PTI activist dead in clash with police
SHANGLA: (Web Desk) Two activists of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) were killed while 12 others suffered wounds in a clash with police in Alpuri district of Shangla in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province.
The deceased youth were identified as M Hassan (16) and Mohsin Ali (21). Hassan was the grandson of former provincial minister and newly elected MPA Abdul Munim from PK-29.
Including the deceased youth, a large number of PTI workers took to the streets in the district as a protest against alleged rigging yesterday.
Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Sajjad Khan said that the deceased and injured persons were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital Alpuri. He added that the injured persons suffered bullet injuries and were beaten with sticks and stones.
Meanwhile, PTI-backed independent candidate and lawyer Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, who has won the NA-41 Lakki Marwat seat in Thursday’s general elections, has moved to a safer place due to security concerns.
With a video statement, he said that a threat alert has been issued by the security agencies that two suicide bombers have been sent to target him.
The PTI leader said that in view of security concerns, he will not be present in his house. “The people, workers and supporters of Lucky Marwat do not come to my room to congratulate the win. If the situation is better, I will personally come to thank the people of the constituency,” he said.
