Roma, who represents Pakistan at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand, shared an Instagram reel addressing colourism and body-shaming remarks.
She rejected the idea that beauty is tied to fair skin and emphasized that her appearance reflects her Pakistani roots strongly.
She said that she is proud of her skin tone, culture, and values. “I am Pakistani in my roots, values, and every shade of my skin,” she said, noting that her look represents generations of South Asian women.
she also highlighted that many young women face narrow expectations of beauty and are unfairly criticized for looking different.
She urged the critics to stop spreading negativity and focus on positive support, saying that everyone is a representative of Pakistan and is representing Pakistan in their own way.
She defended her choice to wear a sari at a Miss Universe event, calling it “as Pakistani as the shalwar kameez” and rejecting attempts to redefine her cultural identity.
