Web Desk: Ishrat Fatima has rejoined PTV as Pakistan’s senior broadcaster returns to Pakistan Television on the request of Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar.

Pakistan Television’s veteran newsreader Ishrat Fatima has officially made her comeback after decades of service to state media.

With a career spanning more than 45 years, Ishrat Fatima rejoins PTV at a time when her experience is being widely appreciated across media circles.

Earlier, Ishrat Fatima had stepped away from Radio Pakistan and openly shared the reasons behind her departure, which sparked public debate and support from fellow journalists and celebrities.

Many praised her integrity and professionalism as Ishrat Fatima rejoins PTV following public backing.

Several well-known personalities voiced their support, including Shaista Lodhi, who stated, “We stand with you. Your voice and grace will always be respected.”

Meanwhile, actor Iffat Omar urged authorities to establish a merit-based system so that seasoned professionals can move into academic and mentoring roles, especially as Ishrat Fatima rejoins PTV.

Later, Attaullah Tarar visited Ishrat Fatima at her residence, where a detailed meeting took place. After the discussion, the minister announced that she will serve as a mentor at PTV, training and guiding young newscasters and broadcasters.
