Neelofar, starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan had high expectations due to its star cast and heavy promotions, but it struggled to attract audiences both in Pakistan and abroad.
Despite the success of their previous hits like The Legend of Maula Jatt, industry insiders are worried about the impact of this flop.
Some analysts even suggest that Mahira Khan’s career could face serious challenges after Neelofar’s poor response.
The acting of Mahira Khan in the viral clip of Neelofar also disappointed fans and encouraged them not to watch the movie, Neelofar.
Fawad Khan, though facing multiple flops including Money Back Guarantee and Aabeer Gulaal, is still expected to get future projects.
Interestingly, Fawad reportedly did not want Neelofar to release, causing delays, but the film was eventually released worldwide on 28 November with heavy marketing.
The production budget of Neelofar was Rs18,00,00,000, while an additional Rs20,00,00,000 went into promotions.
