Starring Mawra Hocane as Laila and Talha Chahour as Qais, the show follows a newly married couple trying to adjust to life in a large, traditional family. But beneath the surface of family politics and daily squabbles lies a disturbing secret — Sidra, the daughter of one of Qais’ brothers, is being harassed by her cousin Zeeshan.
In episode nine, the tension reaches its peak when Sidra stays home due to illness while the rest of the family goes out. Zeeshan takes advantage of the situation and attacks her, only to be stopped in a gripping moment by Qais, who arrives just in time.
Some girls grow up learning to stay quiet in homes that should’ve been their safest place & every time a girl’s voice is silenced to keep peace in the house, another cycle of pain begins.

There was also a moment of redemption for Shafaq, Zeeshan’s sister, who hadn’t been very kind to Sidra or her younger sister Maria throughout the show. Her slow realization of what her brother did and her attempt to comfort the girls showed that she wasn’t just a one-dimensional ‘evil’ character.
The viewers are loving the drama for highlighting such a sensitive issue in a well-mannered way, how they make the scene look realistic and unsetting.
‘’Sidra s attempt to inform her mother about the harassment was one point that was brought to light, but her worries were dismissed. Several individuals sent a message for all parents: have faith in your kids!” “The writing and the performance was fabulous” fans commented.
how well executed this scene was! They are really showing the horrors of joint family and what happens when you don t listen to your kids and overlook the things that are troubling them! Also the breakdown scenes of the girl and her mother blaming herself was good! #jamataqseem pic.twitter.com/5zpp2G24IA

Many viewers are pleased with the show s delicate treatment of the subject and accurate depiction of the anguish of abuse. All they can hope for is that the show s creators stay on course.
The child actor playing Sidra delivered an amazing performance 👏 absolutely spot on. The portrayal of Sidra’s parents’ helplessness at being unable to protect their own child was also done exceptionally well too .#jamataqseem
