Web Desk: The Lux Style Awards controversy 2025 has intensified as several prominent figures from fashion and entertainment industry, publicly requested to be excluded from future Lux Style Awards nominations.

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, renowned fashion photographer Muhammad Husnain Mehmood, who has worked in the industry for nearly a decade, expressed deep disappointment with the Lux Style Awards’ selection system.

Despite receiving nominations in the past, he said the experience has repeatedly left him disheartened.

“For almost a decade, I’ve worked in fashion photography — editorials, campaigns, and many creative projects. I’m grateful for the opportunities and the Lux nominations I’ve received, but it’s disheartening to fall short every year, despite the hard work I put in,” he wrote.

He further stated that after years of involvement, he still does not understand how the judging criteria work, adding that “it can feel discouraging for those of us outside that circle.”

With respect, Husnain requested that his portfolio not be asked for again, noting that the submission process requires significant time and effort, and based on his experience, he no longer wishes to participate. He clarified that his statement comes from “genuine disappointment, not resentment.”

Model Suleman Hussain also echoed similar concerns, strengthening the ongoing debate within the industry about transparency and fairness at the Lux Style Awards.

He criticized the Lux Style Awards by saying they asked my portfolio by their own and when I sed them they gave away the award to someone who is not even a full-time model.

He further said, when you know you deserved it, watching this circus is beyond disappointing, its insulting.
