In a private TV programme, the host asked him what important role Aftab Iqbal has played in his career to which Saleem Albela replied that he [Aftab Iqbal] is his benefactor.

He told the host that the late comedian Amanullah introduced him to Aftab Iqbal.

He said he was allowed to join the show on a trial basis, but Aftab Iqbal liked his many things. So, he joined the show permanently.

Saleem Albela said he worked with Aftab Iqbal for seven years, adding Aftab Iqbal reduced their salaries to a great extent when the coronavirus pandemic spread.

“Aftab Iqbal told us that the situation is very bad, so whoever gets a chance should go,” he said.

He added he got a chance, and then Allah blessed him and his conditions improved so much that he did not feel the need to go back.
