(Web Desk): Aliya Fakhri, sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has been detained in New York in connection with the deaths of her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, and his friend, Anastasia Ettienne.

A report from India claimed that Aliya Fakhri allegedly set fire to a two-story buidling where the victims were sleeping, leading to their deaths from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.

Jacobs’ friend, Ettienne, who woke up due to the flames, made repeated attempts to alert his friend before returning upstairs. However, the fire broke out rapidly, leaving the victims trapped inside.

Sources indicated that Aliya was frustrated over her break up with Jacobs who had ended their relationship about a year ago.

Jacobs  mother told reporters that her son had made it clear to Aliya that their relationship was over.

The horrific incident left everyone shock. Aliya Fakhri’s mother denied the role of her daughter in the incident of setting fire to the garage of her ex-suitor. However, Nargis Fakkhri has not made any comment on the matter publicly.

The court has denied the bail request of Aliya Fakhri. She is facing serious charges and could be sentenced to life imprisonment if convicted.
