(Web Desk): Pakistani famous senior actress Saba Faisal has broken her silence to criticism over her viral statement about daughters-in-law.

Saba Faisal addresses the issue on criticism on a video message, posted on her Instagram account, aiming to provide clarification over her viral statement.

Saba Faisal viral statement controversy begun, when she appeared on Nida Yasir’s morning show Good Morning Pakistan.

In the show, Saba shared her views on marital dynamics suggesting that newly married should not make decisions independently and said, girls should behave as “goongi behri (deaf and dumb)” in her in laws specially referring to role in joint families.

The statement went viral quickly with many followers and other actors pointing her out for using term “goongi behri (deaf and dumb)” and sharing such thoughts on national television.

While responding to criticism on video message, she said made a mistake by using the term “goongi behri (deaf and dumb),” I should have used the word compromise instead, I did not mean it literally.

Instead, she further explained that both sides in a marriage should sometimes ignore minor issues to maintain peace.

The Main Manto Nahi Hoon actress also addressed the debate over wedding outfits. She said in-laws often choose clothes based on tradition and culture. She added that this gesture usually reflects love, not control.

Saba Faisal stressed that viewers judged her based on short clips, not the full discussion. However, she clarified her viral statement and apologize as well.
