The incident took place at a cinema hall in Mumbai during the special screening of the film So Long Valley. According to eyewitnesses, Ruchi stormed the event, furiously shouting at the producer before throwing her slipper at him in front of the public. On social media, the video of her altercation quickly went viral, where Ruchi can be seen angrily hitting Chauhan amid the chaos in front of the public.
Speaking to the media, Ruchi claimed that in 2023, Maan Singh had offered her the role of co-producer for a Hindi drama series, providing all the necessary documentation at the time. Between July 2023 and January 2024, she says she made payments worth several lakhs of rupees through her company SR Event & Entertainment.

However, the project never materialized.
Ruchi later alleged that the funds she had invested were misused and instead redirected to finance the production of So Long Valley, which she claims is a blatant violation of their agreement.
The protest wasn’t a solo act. Ruchi was accompanied by a group of demonstrators carrying placards — some with red crosses drawn over the producer’s face, and others showing him caricatured riding a donkey.
Ruchi has filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police. Based on Ruchi’s allegations, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 318(4), 351(2), and 352, a case has been registered by the Mumbai Police against the 36-year-old producer. The case involves alleged fraud amounting to 2.5 million INR (approx. PKR 8.6 million or USD 30,000).
