Deadline to submit postal ballot papers ends today
ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) As the countdown to the general elections continues, the deadline for submitting postal ballot papers has come to an end today.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) launched the process of providing postal ballot papers to eligible individuals for both the national and provincial assemblies’ elections.
Eligible voters were able to download postal ballot papers from the electoral authority’s website.
After receiving the postal ballot, the applicants sent their votes to the relevant District Returning Officer within the specified time. The individuals receiving postal ballots will not have the privilege to cast their votes in person at the polling stations on February 8.
Through this convenient voting method, different segments of society have exercised their democratic right. The beneficiaries included government employees and incarcerated persons including prisoners and accused persons to participate in the electoral process.
The electoral watchdog extended the postal ballot facility to armed forces personnel, their families, and differently-abled persons, ensuring a broad spectrum of participation in the general elections.
