Gold prices dropped suddenly, creating a moment of surprise for buyers and investors. The rate of 24-karat gold fell by Rs3,300, settling at Rs439,762 per tola, compared to the previous Rs443,062 reported by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The downward trend continued as 10 grams of 24-karat gold slipped by Rs2,829 to Rs377,025 from Rs379,854. Similarly, 10 grams of 22-karat gold declined by Rs2,594, now priced at Rs345,618 instead of Rs348,212.
Global markets also showed weakness. International gold prices dropped by $33, falling to $4,174 from $4,207.

Silver followed the same path. The per tola price of 24-karat silver decreased by Rs140, reaching Rs5,522 from Rs5,662, while 10 grams of silver slid by Rs120 to Rs4,734 from Rs4,854. International silver softened as well, dipping by $1.40 to $52.60 from $54.
The sudden drop shows markets reacting quickly to global shifts. Buyers may feel hopeful for better deals, while traders stay cautious. Precious metals remain sensitive to worldwide economic signals, and more changes could follow soon.
