LAHORE (Web Desk): The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has gone fully online with billing system to make bill payments, meter readings and power restoration easier.

Lahore Electric Supply Company has decided to completely shift its electricity billing system to an online platform. The step aims to reduce problems faced by consumers and improve service quality.

According to Lesco, the goal is to modernise the billing process and make it more efficient and transparent. The company wants to cut delays and remove errors linked to manual work.

For this purpose, Lesco’s material management department has started purchasing M2M SIMs. These SIMs will connect electricity meters directly to the control room, allowing meter readings to be received online in real time.

Under the new system, billing will become faster and clearer, while chances of human error will be reduced. Consumers will be able to trust the accuracy of their bills.

The system will also include automatic disconnection for non-paying users. After bill payment, the concerned SDO will be able to restore electricity online, ensuring quick service.

Lesco officials said that once fully implemented, consumers will be able to view bills online and pay easily through mobile phones or web portals, making the entire process smoother.

This move can save time for consumers. Online readings may reduce complaints. If applied properly, trust in billing can improve.
