Vlektra has officially launched the Special Edition of its popular long-range electric motorcycle, the Velocity 180, bringing notable improvements in power, design, and performance. While retaining its impressive 180 km range per charge, the new version introduces several upgrades aimed at enhancing the riding experience.
The most significant change comes in the form of a more powerful 2000W BLDC motor, replacing the 1500W hub motor used in the standard model. This upgrade boosts the top speed from 65 km/h to 85 km/h and increases torque from 100 Nm to 120 Nm, offering better acceleration and on-road performance.

Other enhancements include dual disc brakes on both wheels, tubeless tires for improved durability, and the addition of three ride modes with reverse assist, giving riders more flexibility and control on varying terrains. Charging time has also been reduced to 3.5 hours on a 10 Amp AC charger, compared to the previous 4 hours.
Visually, the Special Edition sets itself apart with a blazing red color scheme, adding a sporty aesthetic to its technical advancements. Like the standard model, it runs on a 72V 36Ah lithium iron phosphate battery, known for its safety and longevity.
Vlektra has set the introductory price of the Velocity 180 Special Edition at Rs375,000, with bookings now open at a down payment of Rs50,000. The launch is expected to attract electric mobility enthusiasts looking for both style and performance.
