ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) Monal Restaurant, one of the most popular dining spots in Islamabad known for its stunning location and diverse menu, is shutting down permanently on September 11 on the directions of the Supreme Court (SC).

A recent social media post by Monal Restaurant confirmed its closure on September 11. “It’s time to say Goodbye. As per Honorable SCP directions, we are closing on 11/09/2024,” the post said.

On June 11, the SC ordered the closure of Monal Restaurants and all other eateries in the Margalla Hills National Park in Islamabad.

The SC bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa rejected the report of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and ordered the Islamabad administration to close all restaurants in Margalla Hills National Park within 90 days.

The SC in its verdict stated that the National Park could not be used for commercial activities. The apex court also said to consider affected restaurants in land leasing outside the National Park.
