Honda has marked milestone in both traditional and electric mobility for domestic consumers launching two CG150 and first e-scooter.
The CG150 launch comes after weeks of public waiting as the bike was seen on roads, generating buzz among motorcyclists. With a 4-stroke SOHC engine, the CG150 has both self-start and kick-start features and costs Rs459,900.
Furthermore, Honda has launched the Icon e, its first electric scooter designed in accordance with Pakistan s market requirements. At a price of Rs419,900, the scooter marks Honda s entry into the electric vehicle segment officially, aligning with the objectives of Pakistan s National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP).
Last month, Atlas Honda had announced plans to introduce electric scooters designed for local conditions. In a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company assured it was in talks with concerned regulatory bodies to materialize a hassle-free launch, with road trials and quality checks already in progress.
As road traffic remains one of the biggest sources of carbon emissions in the country, Hondas initiative is likely to transition about 26 million motorcycles to electric system.
