Govt approves hike in base power tariff for commercial, agri consumers

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The federal government on Thursday dropped the electricity bomb on people again as the cabinet approved a massive hike in the base power tariff for commercial and agricultural consumers.
As per the details, the base power tariff for commercial consumers was raised by Rs8.04 per unit and for agricultural consumers by Rs6.62 per unit.

General services will witness a rise of Rs6.98 per unit and large consumers will face an increase of Rs5.51 per unit. However, the base power tariff for industrial consumers remains unchanged.
It is to be noted here that the federal cabinet on July 4 approved through circulation an increase of Rs5.72 per unit in the base electricity tariff, complying with another condition of the International Monitory Fund (IMF).
