Pakistani rupee appreciates against US Dollar in interbank trading

KARACHI (Web Desk): The Rupee gained 2 paisa against the US Dollar in interbank trading on Monday, closing at Rs280,50 compared to the previous day’s Rs280,52.

In the open market, the Dollar was being bought at Rs281,5 and sold at Rs283, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP).

The Euro rose by Rs1,08, ending at Rs325,77, up from Rs324,69 the day before, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen also saw a small rise of 1 paisa, closing at Rs1,80, while the British Pound strengthened by 27 paisa to Rs370,88 from Rs370,61.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Dirham stayed steady at Rs76,37, and the Saudi Riyal fell slightly by 2 paisa to Rs74,75.

Experts say these minor fluctuations show cautious stability in Pakistan’s currency market. Traders are watching global trends and central bank policies, which could influence bigger movements in the coming weeks.
