This rise comes following the government’s introduction of the New Excise Value (NEV) Levy under the 2025–26 federal budget.
The revised price for the Xterrain 3.0L now stands at Rs13.39 million, up from Rs12.975 million, whereas the AutoPlus 1.9L variant has increased from Rs10.5 million to Rs10.79 million—a rise of Rs290,000. This move comes amid a wave of similar price hikes affecting brands like Honda Atlas, Pak Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, and Changan, all citing the NEV Levy, a depreciating rupee, and rising import and freight costs.
Most automakers are now adjusting prices across their lineups, with some companies even delaying revisions until after Ashura, while others are absorbing the costs themselves.

Market analysts caution that repeated price spikes—particularly on rugged 4x4 models like the D-Max—risk eroding consumer confidence in a market already struggling with sluggish demand. The NEV Levy structure, which applies a 1–3 percent surcharge depending on engine capacity, is seen as pushing conventional vehicles further out of reach, even as electric and hybrid cars remain largely exempt.
The D-Max features a 3.0L 4JJ3 turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 187.4 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and peak torque of 450 Nm between 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. This is paired with a 6-speed automatic sequential transmission, allowing for smooth gear shifts and responsive handling. The fuel system is based on a direct injection electronic common-rail setup, ensuring efficiency. With a generous fuel tank capacity of 76 liters, it’s well-suited for long drives and tough terrains.
It is equipped with a range of advanced driver-assistance systems, including ABS, EBD, BA, ESC, TCS, HDC, HSA, TSC, ESS, BOS, and RTM. These features maximize stability and control in various driving conditions. Seven SRS airbags are placed in the front, side, and curtain positions to provide protection for both the driver and passengers. Parking sensors are installed on both the front and rear, making parking much easier, while an anti-theft system with immobilizer ensures vehicle security. The ISOFIX child seat mounts and whiplash protection make the Isuzu D-Max not just a powerful pickup but also a family-friendly and secure choice.
Prices continue to be adjusted in the automobile industry because of rising taxes, costs and levies.
