ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has issued its economic outlook report for Pakistan, saying that the country’s economy is expected to show stability in 2025.

According to the ADB report, Pakistan’s economic growth in the fiscal year 2025 is projected to be 2.5 percent, with expectations for it to reach 3 percent in fiscal year 2026. However, the economic stability is attributed to the IMF loan program.

The report further highlights that inflation in Pakistan is expected to decrease in fiscal year 2025. The remittances from overseas Pakistanis are anticipated to increase, and the country is expected to show improved performance in tax reforms and energy reforms during the same year, read the report.

The reported predicted that by the end of fiscal year 2025, inflation is expected to remain around 6 percent.

The ADB report also predicts that inflation in Pakistan will likely be around 5.8% in fiscal year 2026. It highlights an increase in remittances, a decrease in inflation, and a stable policy rate for the current fiscal year. The global stability in oil and commodity prices has contributed to controlling inflation.

The report also notes that, compared to other countries in the region, Pakistan lags behind in terms of female participation in the labor force. However, increasing female participation could enhance productivity. By enhancing education and vocational training for women, their skills can be improved, leading to the creation of job opportunities that align with market demand.
