The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced special banking hours for Ramzan 2026, implementing temporary schedules for both public and private banks to facilitate employees and customers observing fasts.
According to the SBP circular, bank offices will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while Friday hours will be from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. For public transactions, banking services will be available from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday to Thursday, and 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays.
The central bank stated that this schedule will remain in effect throughout the holy month of Ramadan, after which banking hours will return to their regular timings

Expected Start of Ramzan 2026 in Pakistan
According to astronomical forecasts and sources, the first day of Ramzan 2026 in Pakistan is expected to fall on Thursday, February 19, or Friday, February 20, depending on the moon sighting by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. If the month of Sha’ban completes 29 days, Ramadan will begin on February 19; if Sha’ban completes 30 days, the first fast will start on February 20. The official moon sighting will take place on the evening of February 18.
The SBP’s special banking hours aim to ensure smooth financial services and convenience for customers while accommodating the holy month’s fasting schedule across Pakistan.
