ANF seizes 286kg of drugs, arrests nine suspects

LAHORE: (Suno News) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Wednesday seized more than 286kg of drugs and arrested nine suspects during operations across the country.

According to the ANF spokesperson, 22.8kg of hashish and 9.6kg of opium were recovered from a trailer near Sangjani Toll Plaza, Islamabad. The ANF also arrested the two suspects, residents of Nowshera, who were trying to smuggle the drugs in toolboxes.

The ANF also seized 202.8kg of hashish concealed in the fuel tank of a truck near Shershah Toll Plaza in Multan. Two accused, residents of the Khyber district, were also arrested.

16.8kg of hashish and 31.2kg of opium were recovered from a car near Millat Chowk, Faisalabad. During the operation, two accused, residents of Jhang and Faisalabad, were also arrested.

In another operation, three suspects were arrested on a motorcycle near Sadaqat Hotel on GT Road, Nowshera. The ANF recovered 3.6kg of hashish from the possession of the accused.

The ANF spokesman said that cases against the accused had been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act and investigations launched.
