Amidst murder threats, PTI’s Marwat claims NA-41 victory
LUCKY MARWAT: (Suno News) Also expressing security concerns, PTI-backed independent candidate and lawyer Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has stated that he had won the National Assembly seat of NA-41 Lakki Marwat in Thursday’s general elections.
As per video messages shared in Urdu and Pushto on the social media platform X, the PTI lawyer claimed that he had clinched victory over Asjad Mehmud and Salim Saifullah Khan by margins of 58500 and 71000 respectively.
The PTI lawyers also thanked his supporters for voting him to power.
“This is your victory!!!! I cannot thank you enough! May Allah contribute this into a success of Pakistan and Khan!” said Marwat.
In addition, Marwat said that he had moved to a safer place due to security concerns.
With a video statement, he said that a threat alert has been issued by the security agencies that two suicide bombers have been sent to target him.
The PTI leader said that in view of security concerns, he will not be present in his house. “The people, workers and supporters of Lucky Marwat do not come to my room to congratulate the win. If the situation is better, I will personally come to thank the people of the constituency,” he said.
Meanwhile, the PTI’s ‘independent’ candidates have also defeated PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) ameer Fazlur Rehman in the general elections 2024.
Ali Amin Gandapur of PTI defeated Fazlur Rehman by a huge margin in NA-44 Dera Ismail Khan constituency. He secured 93443 votes while the JUI-F chief grabbed only 59,364 votes.
Another independent candidate from the PTI defeated PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif from NA-15 constituency of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by a large margin by getting 105249 votes while Nawaz Sharif could secure only 80382 votes.
Such unexpected results are coming from many constituencies of the National Assembly, from where well-known political leaders have faced defeats.
