Afghan national murders Pakistani wife over refusal to go to Afghanistan with him
PESHAWAR: (Suno News) An Afghan national Tuesday murdered his Pakistani wife in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), over her refusal to go to Afghanistan with him.
According to police, the accused identified as Asif killed his wife and fled with his four children.
A case was registered against the accused who went into hiding after killing his wife.
The sister of the deceased told the police that her sister, belonging to Peshawar, had been married to Asif 10 years ago, and the couple had four children including three sons and a daughter from wedlock.
She told the police that Asif was a butcher, adding that he and her sister had been living with their children in Pabbi tehsil of Nowshera district.
She said after the government ordered illegal Afghan nationals to go back, Asif wanted to return to Afghanistan, but her sister did not agree to go with him.
She added Asif was not happy with her sister’s refusal, and he allegedly killed his wife.
She further said that the accused had fled after killing her sister, and he had then been sending her threats on WhatsApp through different numbers.
She claimed that Asif had told her on WhatsApp that he killed his wife at 3 am when she was asleep.
“The accused escaped with his daughter and three sons, and he has been in hiding since then. Efforts are underway to arrest the accused,” police said.
The deceased’s family, on the other hand, said that the police had not been taking enough steps to arrest the accused.
“He has been sending us threats and asking us to withdraw the case,” they stated.
