30 govt teachers suspended for refusing election duty
MULTAN: (Suno News) Thirty male and female teachers of government schools have been suspended for refusing election duty, as per a notification.
According to the notification issued by the District Education Authority, women teachers are also among those suspended for not following the orders issued by the authorities in this respect.
On the other hand, Free and Fair Election Network (FAFN) has released a review report on women candidates of political parties for general seats. According to the report, there are 275 women candidates from 111 political parties on general seats in the 2024 elections.
Female candidates are 4.6 percent of the 6,037 candidates nominated by political parties for the general seats of national and provincial assemblies. The report has carried out the analysis on the basis of Form 33 of election candidates for national and provincial assemblies. The technical application of the law applies to parties nominating at least 20 candidates for general seats.
It revealed out of total 111 political parties, 30 parties nominated more than 5pc women candidates. Four political parties nominated women candidates at the rate of 4.5 to 5 percent.
